The ISM Approved Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MS-SCM) is a Web-based program designed for the working professional. It emphasizes a community of learners, limits cohort size and incorporates company-related projects to ensure that participants receive an educational experience relevant to their career objectives. The program employs a ‘high-touch, high-tech’ approach that combines the benefits of state-of-the-art online learning with face-to-face instruction. Students attend only three on-campus sessions in San Diego per year and complete the remainder of the work online.
The online format of the ISM Approved MS-SCM reflects the evolution in the workplace towards virtual teamwork and collaborative learning. Students develop these skills via the Integrative Project course, which addresses a gap between best-in-class practices and current practices in their work environment. The project course requires students to apply knowledge gained in areas such as cost management, leadership, change management, and ethics. In addition to the learning resulting from successful project completion, sponsoring organizations receive a positive return on their tuition investment.
The MS-SCM program, which is also internationally accredited by the Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply, is delivered in two phases over 26 months. Students who complete the 18-unit Phase I will achieve a Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management (GC-SCM). Students have the option of completing Phase I only or matriculating into the 18-unit Phase II to complete the MS-SCM. Cohorts for this 36-unit program are typically scheduled to begin in the fall and spring. Applications are now being accepted for the group that begins in September.
